With the amount of old-school dungeon crawlers being revived on Nintendo’s Virtual Console lately, it’s no wonder that the classic platformer from Activision, Super Pitfall, will soon make its way to the U.S. VC service for the Wii.

Based on the first Pitfall game released on the Atari 2600, Super Pitfall lets players control Harry as he moves through the different mazes in the game in search for the Raj Diamond, his niece Rhonda, and his sidekick Quickclaw. This is definitely a tall order for someone without dual pistols and without the proper equipment to scale the many obstacles in his path.

The Super Nintendo title was given an “E” rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and will be sure to make an appearance on the next-gen console’s retro gaming service some time in the near future. Fans who enjoyed the original series will definitely get a kick out of this revived dungeon crawling platformer, so keep an eye out for it.
