Video of the PS3 UK launch
GameVideos has uploaded a (what else?) video of the PS3’s UK launch. The video includes footage of the fateful announcement that Sony would be giving away free 46-inch Bravias (“an award-winning flat panel”) to the more than 100 people queued up at the launch.
Apparently everyone thought that only one Bravia would be given away, hence the muted cheers. It took a while for them to realize that Sony was willing to splurge on UK£ 250,000 (almost US$ 500,000) worth of free TVs.
