Following the reports that execs from Dead Space (Xbox 360, PS3) and Dante’s Inferno (PS3, PSP, Xbox 360) developer Visceral Games may be leaving the Electronic Arts mothership is this confirmation from IndustryGamers – it’s for real.

An EA rep confirms that GM Glen Schofield and COO Michael Condrey are both out and are reportedly set to lead the new Activision studio in San Mateo. The rep assures gamers, however, that work is continuing on Visceral’s current projects:

It takes a team of talented people to make a highly-rated game like Dead Space. The teams at Visceral are currently working on Dante’s Inferno, Dead Space Extraction and new titles that will be announced at a later date.

Production is uninterrupted on Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space Extraction. SVP Nick Earl continues to lead the Visceral Games Studio.

Big big blow to EA. On the other hand, Activision just got a pair of industry vets.
