Viva Pinata Trailer with Gameplay Footage

Let’s face it, I’m just as skeptical about Viva Piñata as anyone else. The idea of creating a garden to attract your own population of piñatas seems like a recipe destined for disaster, but maybe we all shouldn’t be too quick to judge. While it was just announced today by Rare, a trailer has also been released in which the game’s main characters are interviewed. About halfway through this seven minute feature there is a brief segment displaying actual in-game footage, and it looks like it might have some potential. The graphics look pretty sharp and it seems as if there will be ample opportunity for customization, and the only really problem that doesn’t seem to be working in its favor is the failed attempt at humor. Nonetheless, it’ll be interesting to see how Viva Piñata shapes up, and despite the fact that a video game about piñatas seems a little odd, there might actually be a lot of hope for this one.
