V-jump reveals Bleach: The 3rd Phantom for DS

When an anime/manga hits big in Japan and receives success outside the land of the rising sun, you just know a monster franchise is born. It doesn’t come as a surprise when Japanese magazine V-jump recently revealed Bleach: The 3rd Phantom for the Nintendo DS, but we sure are excited.

Ichigo and other lovable Bleach characters are back for some action, but in turn-based fashion this time around. From what we see on the scans JeuxFrance bagged, The 3rd Phantom looks like a solid strategy RPG that should attract fans of the series and genre alike. Battles seem to be grid-based, as cutesy anime-esque 3D character models move around and face-off against each other.

When initiating attacks, both attacker and defender appear on screen as they execute their actions. Other than that, we are yet to uncover any details about the game. It’s also very likely that it won’t reach western shores any time soon, but we’ll keep you posted, so watch this space!
