Want a cute pet? Try out the Prairie dog

ain't he cute? - Image 1With everybody scurrying to get a flying mount in Outland, here’s a pet from good old Azeroth. It can’t fly and can’t fight for you (like Rufus the naked mole rat) either. But it’s cute nonetheless and quite easy to get by.

How do you get them? Horde players can just walk up to Halpa, the Tauren prairie dog vendor over at Thunder Bluffs (High Rise) and buy a Prairie Dog Whistle. The little critters bind after you use the whistle, which you can purchase at 50 silver pieces. Alliance players have the option of going to a neutral Auction House and purchasing one there. Or they can make a Tauren alt, buy a whistle from Halpa, then sell it at a neutral Auction House. Then of course buy it again using another character.

It’s a noncombat pet, so there really isn’t much for him to do than follow you around. You can sell the little prairie dog to a vendor at 12 silvers and 50 coppers.
