Where is Kul Tiras in World of Warcraft?

Where is Kul Tiras in World of Warcraft? - Image 1Where’s Kul Tiras in World of Warcraft? This very same question was posed in the WoW forums by Ziggychops after citing the official World of Warcraft maps. After checking out the maps myself and reading up on the location, I realized that it is indeed missing. Quite a downer considering how important this location is in Warcraft lore.

Here’s a little background on the island that Warcraft fans should know. This place provided crucial naval support to the alliance in the Second War. When the third war came and the Scourge started attacking, the Kul Tiras navy was once again called into battle, though they were soundly beaten by the hordes of the Lich King.

In the Warcraft storyline, Jaina Proudmoore sailed to west Kalimdor taking half of the remaining fleet with her. The father of Jaina, the Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, took the remaining half and followed her a couple of months later. Currently, Kul Tiras is being led by the Admiral Tandred Proudmoore who is filling in for his father. He has begun to rebuild the navy of the Island and is constantly marshaling the seas near it, protecting the island from Naga, Murlocks, and other unsavory characters.

Obviously, it sounds like a very good setting for more adventures and quests. Blizzard Poster/ Forum Moderator Nethaera explained the reasons why this wasn’t included in the game:

Well, I’m not sure this is really a lore question so much as a content question. As you are aware, there is a lot of lore that either exists now or is still waiting to be told. The logistics of including it all into the game is pretty expansive.

Some things have obviously not been included in the game because we just couldn’t get to it all. Some things have yet to be visited and included. I couldn’t say for sure if a particular area will never be in game or not because as far as we’re concerned, we still have a very long list of things we want to visit in the story and include.

With that statement, it makes me wonder if there will ever be a time when the entire Azeroth will be represented in the game. I’ve always imagined being able to traverse Azeroth in its entirety, even if only virtually. How about you guys out there, what are your thoughts on this and a complete World of Warcraft world?
