As we all know, Wii’s classic controller comes with a third shoulder button. As much as this is a mystery to all of us, we guess it is safe to assume that it was placed there for a reason, albeit unrevealed. Chris Williams , a reader of gaming site Kotaku has some whacked out interesting theories about the button.

According to Williams, the mystery button might serve as a connection to a yet-to-be released clip that would allow users to attach the Wiimote with the classic controller. Williams, who’s studying PhD in Mechanical Engineering by the way, explained that some games in the future may have a mix between dual-analog and motion-sensitive controls.

While there are no current games that can utilize this mod, we guess it can keep the Wiimote out of the Way in the meantime.
