Wii got beachy at Miami launch event

We don’t usually associate the Wii with the sun, surf and sand but Nintendo chose to have a Wii event by the sea in Miami. The event, which no doubt made waves even on dry land, was held at the Tides Hotel in Ocean Drive, South Beach November 11. Hosted by Mario, who showed up in his usual frock (the guy could have worn a Hawaiian shirt or something), the party gave guests hands-on opportunity to test drive the Wii. WarioWare Smooth Moves, Wii Play, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, Excite Truck and Marvel Ultimate Alliance were the playable titles featured at the event.

Rivithed, who was lucky enough to be at the right place and at the right time, reported “plenty of people were having a good time.” We would, too, if we were there. Rivithed also had the good fortune of playing Wii Play ahead of like a billion people on the planet. It was an experienced which he says was “fun.” Not a man of many words, eh? Anyway, he did show lots of great pics which more than made up for his spartan account and we have them here:
