“Wii will output in 480p.” PERIOD.

Component cables

People make honest “mitsakes” all the time – in “speling”, in “grammer”, etc. Now, when we reported earlier that UK‘s “Nintendo: The Official Magazine” mentioned that the Wii would output in 720p, some of you have commented that this was entirely false (despite it coming from an THE official magazine for Ninty). And good for you for having spotted the said error.

oblongmouth even had this to say: “Who’d have thought an magazine officially licenced by Nintendo would get so many things wrong? How strange.” He has a point, as do the lot of you. But publications do make mistakes from time to time. As TheTeej says: “To be fair, multiple publications stated the Stand was the Wii power supply.”

As soon as the rumors of a 720p Wii spread like wildfire across the web, Nintendo was quick on the uptake and squashed them down hard by admitting it was a simple error. Their statement: “Wii will output in 480p.” They even stressed that they would release peripherals like the component cable at retail to achieve the 480p.

So there you have it folks. Just a clear-up. We make mitsakes all teh times. Erors like these are easily forgiven.
