Wii Wing Island: It’s Not Pilotwings, Is It?

When the SNES came out, there was Pilotwings. When the N64 came out, there was Pilotwings 64. When the Wii comes out, there will be PilotWiiings. Har, har. We kid. But there will be Wii Wing Island though. And whether Hudson will admit that it is or isn’t a Pilotwings installment for the Wii, we’re not complaining.

Take to the skies once again, as you start your journey with the new Nintendo platform. It’s going to be one of the first games available for download in the Virtual Console. If you’ve played the Pilotwings games, you’d fit snugly into this game. More so even now since this flight simulation game uses the Wiimote. The game’s main point is acrobatic flight. And you’d even be able to control five planes simultaneously (you’ll see it in the video).

I remember playing the Pilotwings games. And those were really fun. Flying around in open-air, just admiring the view from the top, soothing music… Aaaah. That’s what I call escape. Let’s all hope that this game proves to be one Wii launch title everyone will welcome gladly with open wings, er, arms.
