Wipeout XL on the way to PSN?

There’s something very interesting that caught our eyes in the ESRB site as of late. If you check the read link below like we did, you’ll see that the classic game Wipeout XL which was launched in the first PlayStation is listed right in there under the PSP and the PS3.

Could they be doing a remake? There’s absolutely nothing currently out there to indicate such a move. The most logical assumption we could take at this point should be that it’ll be up on the PlayStation Network sometime in the future. If that’s the case, the PSN should be getting a heck of an addition to its library.

If you didn’t catch the rush that was Wipeout XL the first time around, it’s one of the fastest, most visually-pleasing combat racers of its time. Using futuristic hovercraft flying around closed circuits, shooting weapons at each other all throughout, it was the recipe for hours of mind-numbing fun. We’re hoping to see it get the HD treatment real soon, but it would rock as well if we can play it on the go with our PSPs.
