World of Warcraft: Arena Season 2 updates

In Blizzard‘s official Europe World of Warcraft forums, Aeus has released some updates concerning the Arena. Those who are actively participating in the battles would do well to listen up and pay attention.

For those who are wondering when Arena Season 2 will start, it has been announced that it will begin one week after the end of the first Arena Season, so get ready for that. Blizzard is planning to update ALL Arena items and the items for season 2 are already good to go, so hopefully we won’t be experiencing bugs when the new equipment rolls in. Players can also save up to five Arena points and the points you accumulate from the first season shouldn’t be affected (they have said no resets, so we’ll believe them).

As for battle details and Arena prizes, Aeus explained it pretty well:

  • The top 0.5% of the teams of each bracket will receive the Netherdrake epic flying mount, as well as the top Arena title. This means that the top 0.5% of the teams in the 2v2 bracket, the top 0.5% of the teams in the 3v3 bracket, and the top 0.5% of the teams in the 5v5 bracket will all receive the Netherdrake and the title.
  • Every player on these top teams who has played at least 20% of the total games of the team for the Arena Season will receive these rewards.
  • There will be 4 titles total for players to earn. The highest ranked title is for the top 0.5% of the teams. The specific % needed for the remaining 3 ranks will be revealed as they become finalised.
  • This in-game Arena Season is completely separate from the Arena Tournament. Tournament qualifiers will not receive a Netherdrake mount by default.

With all the announcements though, one thing most players have been wondering about is when Arena Season one will end. Unfortunately, Aeos must have forgotten to post it because it wasn’t anywhere in his message. Well, at least when it comes out we know what to expect (Item updates) and what we’re fighting for (Netherdrake mounts and the title).
