World of Warcraft comic book in the works

WoW, the comic - Image 1We’re sure you’ve seen a lot of submissions in the World of Warcraft comic and art contests. Well, if you enjoyed those shorts, maybe this bit of news will pique your interest.

Imagine Jim Lee and Chris Metzen in one comic convention at the same time. You guys really don’t have to use your imagination much though, as Blizzplanet reports that it is indeed happening at the San Diego Comic Con.

If you don’t know either of them, here’s a bit of a briefer: Chris Metzen is VP of Creative Development for Blizzard, or to put it simply, he’s responsible for World of Warcraft lore. On the other hand, Jim Lee is a highly successful comic book artist and is responsible for the iconic costumes of the X-Men, the creation of WildC.A.T.s, and even the literal resurrection of the Fantastic Four and Iron Man in Heroes Reborn.

The information drove Blizzplanet to dig further into whether DC Comics or Blizzard was planning a World of Warcraft comic book. After rummaging through the interwebs, they found the scans below, which include an interview with Walter Simonson and Ludo Lullabi, writer and artist for the said comic.

Hmm… Was this supposed to be a surprise meant for BlizzCon or atleast the San Diego Comic Con? We’ll see that in a bit. We’ll keep digging just in case an official announcement has slipped past our internet hamsters. Stay tuned.
