World of Warcraft: Thunderfury can hinder Victory Rush

World of Warcraft - a Tauren warrior bestowed with Thunderfury - Image 1Warriors, heads up: if you took your precious time (and money) to hunt down Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, you probably have been using this trusty legendary blade for all its worth on your PvE Berserker runs. But perhaps those who rely on those trusty combination attacks for maximum damage, you might want to know that Thuderfury could block a combo from the get-go.n

As you all know, this legendary sword activates its damage effects about 25% of the time, which is applied upon landing a blow. Problem is, the damage applied doesn’t stem as physical damage, which Thunderfury has plenty of.

If you do attack an enemy, there is a possibility that the damage effect may end up as the killing blow. This is where the problem begins.

Being overzealous with Victory Rush, you depend on the additional (free) damage you get from invoking this talent. Victory Rush activates as soon as you strike the killing blow on an enemy, allowing the next enemy you charge into to take a whopping drain of health. But this will happen if and only if you strike the killing blow.

Unfortunately, the damage effect doesn’t count as a killing blow, even if you were the only one attacking the enemy. Lasrod, a level 60 Tauren Warrior, reported this mishap on the WoW Europe Forums, so it’s likely to have happened a couple of times on the U.S. realms, too. European players of World of Warcraft have no need to despair: the report has been noticed and will be put under investigation.
