Worms: A Space Oddity: Details on the Atomic Pack, Guided Frag and Excavator - Image 1 Wondering what toys Team 17 has lined up for Worms: A Space Oddity for the Nintendo Wii? We’ve managed to pick up a video featuring three of the game’s weapons, one of which looks like something Solid Snake could definitely take a fancy to. The clip is available for viewing over in the full article.

Ask any gamer about Worms, and the first thing they’ll always talk about is the franchise’s penchant for wacky weapons. The same can be said of Worm: A Space Oddity from Team 17 for the Wii, which ups the ante with new toys like the Guided Frag, the Atom Pack, and the Excavator.

The Guided Frag should be familiar to anybody’s who’s ever played Metal Gear Solid (or Super Smash Bros. Brawl). Upon firing a round, you can guide the rocket to your intended target via the Wiimote‘s IR cursor, which shows up on screen as a cross-hair.

The Atomic Pack is a command detonated bomb, with a twist. After you plant one and retreat from its blast radius, you detonate the Pack by holding your Wiimote horizontal to you, hold the B button, and plunging the controller down like you would with a real detonator.

The Excavator (aka shovel) should be self-explanatory: Use it to dig tunnels through each level’s terrain. To use it, Aim with the D-Pad, hold B, and pretend your shoveling real dirt. If you moved properly, your worm should do the same onscreen. We’ve managed to pick up a video demonstrating just how each of these new toys work, available for viewing below. Enjoy!
