XBLA goes retro – again – with Double Dragon

Billy and Jimmy LeeHere’s another blast to the past game heading towards the XbLA. Classic 80’s fight clubbish Double Dragon arcade game is set to box its way to the new millennium via the Marketplace.

For those of you who were still toddlers when this game made its mark in the video game industry, here’s a little rundown for you. The game features the Lee brothers, Billy and Jimmy, in a post-nuclear New York City environment. And as with any other action genre, it won’t be complete without a beautiful damsel in distress captured by the ruthless villains. In this game, those villains are more popularly known as the Black Warriors.

So their princess has been kidnapped, and they’re out to reclaim her. But that’s not all that the challenge they’ll be up to. Because apart from playing the heroic prince charmings, albeit the street-tough-beat-’em-up attitude, they also have to act as guardians to the secrets of the Double Dragons.

Now, there still ain’t no confirmation as to the exact release date of Double Dragon on the XbLA. But you can make the wait worth your while by brushing up on your retro moves.
