Yes, Palm Is Alive and Kicking – New Treos on the Way

We expressed our concern over how long Palm was taking to diversify its current product lines here.

Do Palm’s people pass by QJ?  Just today Brighthand posted an article in which Palm co-founder Jeff Hawkins confirmed his company’s plans to release three new Treos before the year ends.  The updated range, according to him, is to consist of a combination of OSs, hardware designs and other such significant advancements – a mix of Palm OS and Windows Mobile smartphones that will span a wider range of price points (which means that we can expect less expensive Treos).  Rumor has it that consumers can expect a very thin, antenna-less smartphone, a mid-level smartphone which might cost about $200, and a device with UMTS support.

Great news, especially if these units will come with the new, much-improved version of the Palm OS that PalmSource is touting.  Let’s see.
