10 new screens for R-Type Command coming up

So it’s been a long wait since the last update from Irem‘s long-awaited genre-switching of a franchise, but clearly development for R-Type Command is solid and underway. Our latest peek for anything R-Type-related drew up several new screenshots of the new tactical based rehash of R-Type, and though they aren’t as large or as revealing of the up-close, 3D combat cutscenes, we’ll take what we can get. Ten new screens pop up at the full story.

And while we all await Atlus‘ R-Type Command, we’re bound to find solace in the latest screenshots to surface for the tactics-based strategy rehash of the R-Type franchise. And the screens dotting this story will tell more of what players will expect in-game as they struggle to invade the very heart of the Bydo Empire with a single armada.

Yeah, just one – and without reinforcements, too. As revealed before, players will have to make do with whatever resources, technology, and manpower they can scrounge up or purchase from the deepest reaches of Bydo territory. And all the while, they’ll have to keep the enemy in check, and cut down Bydo defenses where they stand in a desperate beeline for the Bydo home system.

Or maybe not. Irem‘s R-Type Command will also give players a chance to play the other, winning side of the age-old war, and you can delight yourself in the final hours of humanity’s fate as you probe, drill, and destroy Earth defenses and forces for the glory of the Bydo Empire.
