11-year-old boys use sledgehammer to steal videogames

Sledgehammer Boy - Image 1Milwaukee residents are scratching their heads at the videogame-related crime to happen in their midst – one involving two 11-year-old boys, a sledgehammer, and the Target store branch located at 8501 Brown Deer Road. Nope, no one was hurt – except for a glass case that held the store’s stock of videogames, of course.

Surveillance camera footage shows the two boys breaking into the store with a sledgehammer in tow. Seemingly no older than 11 years of age each, they made a beeline to the electronics department, specifically where the videogames were kept.

Using their weapon of choice, they break open the glass case containing the store’s display of videogames. They take one single videogame – it’s not yet known just what game it was – and then make their leave.

Police say the boys didn’t steal anything else, much to the puzzlement of customers and shop owners everywhere, as well as raising a lot of questions. How did the boys get their hand on a sledgehammer, for instance? And how did they get past the store’s security? It may be a while until we know, as the suspects themselves are still at large, and those with information are asked to contact the authorities.

Certainly quite a shocking bit of news. Updates as we get them.
