2007: What’s in it for us?

2007 calendarWe’ll be starting 2007 with a (hopefully) fresh new start. To help you guys along, we picked up snippets of Dean Takahashi‘s hopes for ’07. For video gaming, that is.

First are the new PC/MMORPG titles – a major turnaround for guys who thought PC gaming was neglected last year. Games like Half-Life 2: Episode 2 are expected to make their debut this year, along with Will Wright’s Spore title. And then there’s Shadow Run, which will be making full use of the Microsoft‘s Live Anywhere technology – Xbox 360 owners and PC owners will be playing against each other for the first time.

Moving on from the PC scene, 2007 will also be marking more PS3 and Xbox 360 launches. The Xbox 360 will be getting Halo 3, while the PS3 will be getting Killzone 2 accordingly. For the PS3 fans, further good news comes in the launching of (painfully delayedRainbow Six: Vegas for this year, along with Lair and Motorstorm.

Xbox 360 fans will also be looking forward to their own line-up, with games like Crackdown, Mass Effect, BioShock, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Too Human, Forza Motorsport 2, and The Darkness.

For portables, DS fans will be expecting titles like The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings. PSP gamers get their equivalent in The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, and Crisis Core.

That’s just some of the cooler titles we’ll be looking forward to snarfing this year. For the full details on Takahashi-san’s list of things to come (like Nvidia’s G80 chip), view the read link.
