Sony has released a pair of new products – both under the name of “Location Free”.
In a short description, you can convert the video you received into compressed data , and broadcast it via WiFi using the base station. Users can then receive the broadcasted data in the bound of WiFi and play it on your terminal device. If you are not home, you can access the data via internet, and playback in any location that has an internet connection (that’s why it is named “Location Free” – enjoy your TV program anywhere, either indoor or outdoor). Remote control is also possible.
We could just imagine a possibility that Sony can make use of this product with the PSP. If Sony designs software for the PSP to receive the broadcasted data, either by local WiFi or internet connection, the PSP will have the capability of playing TV programs.
But currently, the PSP has nothing linked to this device, everything about this is just a hypothesis.
