2K sinks rumor of BioShock going to PS3
The jig is up for this rumor. Shortly after UK‘s Official PlayStation Magazine was rumored to be carrying a March 2007 article on a possible PS3 release for the Microsoft-exclusive BioShock title, 2K Games stepped in to make some clarifications.
According to 2K, the magazine was referring to an earlier press release featured during last year’s E3, last May of 2006. Back then, 2K hadn’t yet announced which console was to receive the game.
To further clarify: 2K actually made an announcement last September, when they finally went official with its Microsoft exclusivity: the game is coming out only for Xbox 360 and PC.
That is all to report, and we do hope you took our suggestion of keeping this whole matter watered down – looks like commenter Blade beat us to the punch on this rumor snippet we picked up earlier.
Expect a game release this June.
