Ben Brinkman, Executive Producer of the game was quick to praise Reyes by saying:

This year we have signed one of the most exciting players in all of Major League Baseball as our official cover athlete. Jose Reyes is a multi-talented player – a great baserunner, fielder and hitter, making him the perfect spokesperson for Major League Baseball 2K8.

An avid video gamer himself, Jose Reyes was excited to be on the cover of this year’s iteration of the the critically acclaimed Major League Baseball 2K series. The all-star shortstop led the Major League in 2006 by setting a new Mets club record with 204 hits at Shea Stadium and was a natural fit to become 2K Sports’ official spokesperson for the game.

Developed by Kush Games, Major League Baseball 2K8 will be available by spring 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, and Wii.
