360 GAMER Magazine Appoints Deputy Editor
Uncooked Media today announced that it has appointed Jay Filmer to the new role of Deputy Editor on its Xbox 360 magazine title, 360 GAMER. Jay joins the team from issue eight of 360 GAMER, direct from his previous role as Deputy Editor on Highbury’s X-360 magazine, where he was one of the key people responsible in making X-360 the success it is today. Prior to X-360, Jay’s extensive CV also includes stints as Features Editor on gamesTM, News Editor on GamesRadar and Assistant Editor on retailer GAME’s UK website. The appointment will allow 360 GAMER to build upon its reputation for providing fair and balanced editorial, with Jay’s key responsibilities being to strengthen the magazine’s relationships with software developers and publishers, as well as evolving the title’s dedicated reader sections. Jay Filmer, Deputy Editor, 360 GAMER said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Uncooked and can’t wait to get cracking on 360 GAMER. Everyone who works here is really passionate about what they do, and I’m impressed that they encourage an open and progressive creative environment.”
Stu Taylor, Group Editor, Uncooked Media said: “We had a lot of high quality applications for the Deputy Editor role on 360 GAMER which made picking the right candidate all the more difficult. However, Jay’s key involvement in the launch of X-360 magazine shows that he knows his stuff and is a real coup for 360 GAMER and Uncooked.”
360 GAMER was launched by Uncooked Media in October 2005, and is the only UK Xbox 360 magazine published every three weeks. It also offers unbeatable value with a standard retail price of £2.99 for 132 pages, and is available through the likes of WHSmith, HMV, Gamestation, Borders and newsagents. 360 GAMER is a member of the Audit Bureau of Circulations. Issue 8 of 360 GAMER goes on sale Thursday, 20th April, with a coverprice of £2.99.
