360 wireless headset owners report problems
The forums at Xbox.com are buzzing with complaints: the wireless headset is buggy. And Microsoft hasn’t really responded to the problem. XBL Radio reported the following problems:
- constant communication drops
- excessive beeping during conversations
- (low) clarity of dialogue during chats
- very small line-of-sight area
The “constant communication drops” is the one that concerns us the most, because we can see how this problem really makes the wireless headset useless. What happens? The wireless headset keeps on beeping, then dropping the conversation. When the conversation drops, your buddy’s voice comes out of the TV speakers. Then less than a few seconds later, the sound is back on the wireless headset. But this keeps happening.
In short, XBL Radio describes the headset as “more of a hassle than a convenience.” What’s been Microsoft’s response? There hasn’t been any acknowledgment. Another website, 2old2play.com, reports the same thing.
If these issues don’t get fixed, it’s back to the wires. And this wonderful accessory gets a bad name. Too bad. We think it looks so pretty, like a Cardassian Galor class battlecruiser.
