$399 Xbox 360 Pro Bundle Coming in August?
Gamers who are holding off buying Xbox 360s in anticipation of a price drop are pretty much resigned to the fact that the price points would remain at $299 and $399 – that is after a Microsoft representative confirmed that there will be no price cut for the console. So, that leaves gamers no choice but to buy their 360s now.
Well, if they knew what’s cooking over at Microsoft, perhaps they’d stop on their tracks and just wait a couple more weeks to get their Xbox 360s. You see, over at the Gaming-Age Forum, a certain “Dr_Cogent” claimed that come August 1, an Xbox 360 Pro Bundle will be made available. The bundle includes Project Gotham Racing 3, 1250 Points Card, and 3-month Live Gold, all for $399. These “freebies” add up to about $85. Not bad at all. Though the post didn’t specify which Xbox system the bundle will include, best bet it would be the premium 20GB model with hard-drive.
The “news” is now spreading like wildfire over the net, but of course, until we actually get official word from Microsoft, we’d treat this little bit of info as rumor. But if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. I’d even say it’s a brilliant idea from Microsoft – if the bundle offer is real, that is. It’s going to make for a mighty sweet bundle heading into the fall when PS3 and Wii are closing in on their launch dates.
