Naughty kids who can’t wait to get their hands on the 40GB Sony PlayStation 3 have no other option than to drool in anticipation, but they can at least have a sneak peek. The new SKU already shipped to some retailers, and here are pictures of the box straight from some unnamed retail store stockroom.

As expected, the bundle will come with Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray. Contents of the box include essentials such as a SIXAXIS controller, AC power cord, AV cable, Ethernet cable, USB cable, and the PS3 console. If all goes well, the 40GB SKU should appear on US shelves by November 2.

Some remember Jack Tretton’s announcement a while back after Sony kept avoiding the rumors of the SKU actually reaching North America. “I think the educational curve is starting to be broached with the general consumer,” he said. Looks like time will tell what’s waiting this holiday season for Sony, especially now that there’s a going to be a US$399 PS3 available in the market.
