MS Sets Another Xbox 360 Goal: 15 Million Units Sold By June 07
As of this month, financial reports have it that Microsoft has already shipped more than five million units of the Xbox 360 all over the world! According to the fourth quarter report for the three months to June 30th, MS shipped 1.8 million Xbox 360s during the period. Add that to the 1.7 million units shipped in the third quarter, and 1.5 million consoles in the pre-Christmas holiday season and the overall shipments exceed the 5M mark.
North America got over 3.3 million of those units, while MS shipped 1.3 million to Europe and only 400,000 in Asia. Microsoft once again said it is on track in meeting its target of 10 million Xbox 360s sold (or at least, shipped) by the end of 2006. But the company also set another ambitious target of selling 15 million units by the end of the next financial year in June 2007.
