Gears of War Teams Up With Megadeth for Upcoming Tour
It might sound strange, but it’s really happening: Microsoft has signed a deal with notorious thrash metal band Megadeth and will be officially sponsoring the Gigantour (taking place from September 7th till October 8th) so that the upcoming action hit Gears Of War can make a few appearances. And maybe it’s more than just a temporary business deal – “Gears Of War” is also a track on Megadeth’s new album “United Abominations”. Just coincidence? We’ll find out soon.
Other bands appearing on the Gigantour are Lamb Of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity, and The Smashup, all prominent faces in the metal scene. Surely there is common ground with the music these guys are playing and the hard-boiled, furious action of Gears Of War. The right target audience? You decide.
Gears Of War is currently rumored to be released somewhere between September and October. A “big announcement” regarding the game will also be made next week.
