Eidos Releases Just Cause July Trailer

Just Cause

Eidos has finally released a Just Cause trailer that shows us more of the game’s urban landscape. While some gamers were a bit put off by the game’s less-than-eye-popping visuals at E3, a lot of people still wanna play it, well, just ’cause, I guess (pardon the pun). Honestly, though, the gameplay’s really interesting, and with a game world as big as the one this game’s got, players will have a lot of chances to lose themselves in the game. Plus, I just can’t resist a game where you get to randomly drive off the side of a cliff and not die. Well, if you have a parachute, at least.

In the game, you are Rico Rodriguez: flamboyant, suave, and with a penchant for driving bikes off cliffs and parachuting like a madman. Your task is to overthrow the corrupt government (emphasis on “corrupt”) of San Esperito, a rogue South American island suspected of stockpiling weapons of mass destruction, thereby negating this threat to love, peace, and the pursuit of extreme hobbies.

Players have a lot of options open to them as they go about with their mission. They can play the island’s different factions against each other (“I heard him call you a…”), incite a rebellion (always a popular option), or build alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels (just make sure that the guns you give them don’t get used on you in the future). The Just Cause game world is pretty big, with about 1,225 square miles of mountain, jungles, beaches, cities, and villages. All this can be navigated with a variety of land, sea, and air craft.
