Latest PSXP Beta 3 Video
Yoshiro has posted a new video of the current in-development homebrew PSX emulator for the PSP, PSXP which is currently at Beta 3. Although we haven’t actually had word from Yoshiro, the video title hints at a new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), with the effects shown on the video. We aren’t sure that this emulator is real, and haven’t yet had a release from the team at PSPGeneration who are working on this but combining this video and the last two videos which we reported on back in August look pretty convincing.
The speed isn’t something to shout about as you would expect from an in-development emulator and the screen resolution is a little jumpy throughout, but just the idea of emulating original Playstation games via homebrew is exciting. You can see the Sony Computer Entertainment logo as well as the playstation logo you see on PSX start up as well as a title screen form this video. It isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s progress. Tell us what you think of the video in the comments!
