Afrika for PS3: The Wild Screenshots
At first glance Afrika looks more like a National Geographic documentary than a PS3 title. And a mysterious one at that. We couldn’t track down any info about this elusive game (Get it? Track down game? As in big game? Forget it.)
Afrika‘s trailer was last sighted at this year’s E3 and it featured some of the continent’s famous animals in their natural habitat in the vast African Savannah. Among the featured characters were a hippo, a giraffe, and a rhino. The idyllic, predator-free scenarios also showcased herds of wildebeests, zebras, tail-swishing gazelles and three cape buffaloes. All of Afrika’s creatures, great and small, were rendered in near lifelike animation. That was it.
Back then, we were hoping that the now-late great Steve Irwin would pop up in the middle of the animals in his trademark shorts, yell “Crikey!” and start the gameplay going. But we have no clue if this is an RPG or a wild and woollier version of Pok?n Snap. All we know is if that we will be turning our backs on this game if it turns out to be an FPS. We’re praying to the high heavens that it isn’t.
