Doom and Quake on the DS?

Great Games!

Remember John’s DSQuake and Brumi’s DSDoom homebrew? Well, it reached the ears of Todd Hollenshead of id Software–The company renowned for the Doom and Quake series. C3 interviews him on the homebrew community, possible DS ports, and more.

Last QuakeCon, J. Carmack stated that certain mobile phone games, like Doom RPG, could end up in the DS. However, Hollenshead is unable to confirm any plans right now of any mobile title that could be remade for the DS. Although, the most likely candidate for that plan, if it ever pushes through, is Orcs & Elves.  Regarding the DSQuake and DSDoom Homebrews, the interviewer then questioned him regarding putting Quake and Doom on the DS. Hollenshead said that there’s no plans yet, but it may change in the future. As of the moment they’re still evaluating the game console platform.

He thinks the Wii has great potential and the company, Nintendo, always seems to make great games. He says it’s going to be successful eventhough it won’t be as powerful as the 360 or PS3. Whether they create or port Quake or Doom to the DS, we can still say that John and Brumi were one of the first people to prove that it was possible.
