What Happens When You Don’t Buy Burning Crusade?

Burning Crusade!

What do you get when you buy the Burning Crusade expansion? Let’s take a quick look of the features that come with it.

When the expansion comes out, you get the free respec that is caused by the inclusion of new talents and modification of talents within the talent trees. Of course, you still can’t really aim for 61-point talents since the game won’t let you level past 60 unless you have the expansion, but a free respec is always good. This may prove problematic for raiding though, since people who can’t go over 60 may get left out by hardcore gamers who want their people to have more power coming into a raid and end boss situation.

While you can’t train in the new jewel crafting profession, you can still have someone do the work for you to buff up your weapons or make stuff for you. The items needed to create jewel craft will drop regardless of whether you have the expansion or not, but you better have pretty good friends who won’t mind doing some of the work for you if you can’t pick up rare items in Outland.

Speaking of which, while you can’t go to outland or make your own Draenei/Blood Elf character without Burning Crusade, you can actually head to the Draenei and Blood Elf starting areas on Azeroth. The new races obviously won’t become invisible to you, so you can pretty much track one around if you see one and you can probably have them in your party.

The only things that have yet to be explained would be how they intend to implement PVP changes, as well as the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. There’s a good chance the Caverns of Time will only be open to expansion owners, but PVP battles will be a lot stranger if Blizzard doesn’t find ways to keep PVP balanced without annoying PVPers who want to play people their level.

Oh, and let’s hope they destroy the world LFG channel soon. You could stop it from showing up and all, but man, does it get annoying when you turn it on.
