Wipeout Pure – Downloads Over
The folks at Sony Computer Entertainment posted an announcement at their site informing the unwashed masses that they will be providing no downloadable content for Wipeout Pure after October.
The downloadable content for the PSP Greatest Hits combat racing title essentially doubled game-time, making Wipeout Pure one of the PSP games that gave you the most bang for your buck. Add the bonus content to its other features, its amazing multiplayer, and its customization capabilities and you’ve got a good deal.
Don’t take my word when it comes to the game’s greatness. Gamespot, IGN, and Game Edge magazine have this game rated at 8 and higher. A score of 8 is what anyone would call decent, right? Take the decent score of 8, add the 9 Expansion Packs from Classic to Wire05, add in the Greatest Hits price, and what have you got? Obvious must-have.
Unless of course you absolutely hate floaty futuristic cars that kill each other while racing. Then you’d be happy that they’re no longer making Packs.
The official information we have so far is only for Japan, but it’s probably unlikely that we’ll see bonus content for Wipeout Pure past October. The bright side of this is that hopefully they’re working on a sequel. Or maybe even a PS3 version of the game. That makes you feel all warm and fuzzy don’t it?
