Microsoft Promises 110 Games Before Christmas at the TGS
A whopping 110 games before Christmas. Wow. Microsoft doesn’t seem to lag behind with their gaming library updates.
Okay, we’re probably getting ahead of ourselves here. You see, Microsoft spilled the beans during their pre-Tokyo Game Show press con, and they said that they will release a total of 110 games before the holidays kick in. Included in the line-up are:
- Blue Dragon (Microsoft Game Studios)
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Capcom)
- Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2 (Tecmo Inc.)
- Trusty Bell (NAMCO BANDAI Games)
Those who were present got a sneak peek at the said games, and we’re guessing that they were in for a real treat. You see, Microsoft revealed that their fall update will enable users to play games in their full 1080p glory, so that’s something to look forward to. Also, it seems that the company is pinning for nostalgia, as classics are slated to enter the Xbox Live Arcade. XBLA users get to relive arcade favorites such as:
- Contra (Konami Corp.)
- Gyruss (Konami)
- Dig Dug (NAMCO BANDAI Games)
- Track & Field (Konami)
- New Rally-X (NAMCO BANDAI Games)
- RushÂ’n Attack (Konami)
- Ms. Pac-Man (NAMCO BANDAI Games)
Moreover, the XNA was announced as an educational tool that’s going to be used by four universities in Japan (Tokyo University, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Ritsumeikan University and Osaka Electro-Communication University). The XNA Game Studio Express software is expected to aid gaming enthusiasts slash students in their gaming research in various course offerings of the said schools. Cool, huh?
The XNA can be used by anybody to create their own games for the Xbox 360, as Microsoft envisions to create more user-generated content for their console. The XNA is slated this Christmas, so if you want to try your hand creating your own Xbox 360 games, then you might as well check it out.
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. More game updates are expected once the TGS kicks in, so you better stay on your toes.
