Rainbow Six: Vegas box art? Hmmmmm…
There are all sorts of people in Vegas. From drug dealers to obsessed gamblers to cheats and card counters, fakers, booty-shakers, money-makers, and politicians. Oh yes, the worst sorts of human beings imaginable reside in Vegas, and it’s a good thing the fellows in the kevlar with submachine guns are there to keep things clean.
Clean like “the attempt at another authentic-looking box art that may not exist yet, luring people into a false sense of hype, only to be mocked for getting tricked by an elaborate Photoshop prank” clean? We’ve just been emailed yet another “official box art” for a game, with each one getting more high-profile than the previous one. While we appreciate those leads, we still have to check it out, you know.
This one is for the PS3 version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, and while it looks nice and all, we’re going to have to take this box art as speculative. First off, if you check other game sites like ours, the XBox 360 version of the game still has a Rating Pending sign rather than an M rating. That sort of inconsistency sends shivers down Tom Clancy‘s spine. Second is how it was made, because it’s a little too clean, in much the same way some people would feel if something occurred a bit too easily. Compared to the Xbox 360 box art, it comes off feeling like someone just sheared off the Xbox 360 signs at the top and worked with what was left to make a convincing PS3 version.
As you can probably guess, we aren’t going to take this as the real thing until there’s more information available. That being said, that’s still some pretty fine-looking box art, and we thank elijahks for sending this in. And if this is a fake, let’s hope all the final box art covers for PS3 games look that pretty.
