Nintendo Wii Remote-kun TV spot

What we’ve got here is “teh first” TV spot for the Wii in Japan, uploaded by gardiac in YouTube. It’s very zen-ish, actually. There’s no fuss, no loud colors and bizarre-o graphics. Nothing reminiscent of the usual Japanese bubble-gum pop. If you don’t understand it, here’s what the voice over says:

“What’s this?

A new remote control…

The Nintendo Wii remote control.”

Notice that the guy says something like “remo-kun” towards the end. That’s Japanese for “remote control”. Now, the weird thing is, why are they simply calling it a “remote control” and not “Wiimote“. Wonder how the Japanese would actually say “Wiimote”… Weeh-mo-tu… Dah Nin-tehn-doh Weeh-mo-tu. Niiice!

Anyways, it might be a very short clip (running at 15 seconds), but people are suspecting that there’s going to be more (and longer) commercials for the Wii as the launch creeps nearer and nearer.
