PSPUAE v0.60
Ric and Fol has released v0.60 of their homebrew Amiga emulator known as PSPUAE. The changelog for the latest update includes:
- New autoframeskip logic with fps limiting for both PAL and NTSC
- Real 4-channel stereo
- Fixed a couple of menu bugs
- Immediate Blits (Helps with compatability)
- Blitter Cycle Exact (Helps with compatability)
- High Density Floppy for 1.7MB floppy disks
As we mentioned before, PSPUAE is a program which emulates the Amiga 500 (A500). The A500 is Commodore’s best-selling Amiga model. The A500 became “extinct” in 1992. That was the year Commodore released the A600 and its version of the next-gen machine known as the A1200. The A1200 machine is very similar to the A500 with a few improvements. However, in terms of sales and popularity of game titles, A500 remains unmatched.
Incidentally, there is a PSPUAE version repacked for DA 2.71 SE which is not part of the update. We thought we should let you know in case you missed that.
Some of you may find using PSPUAE a bit complicated. Thankfully, Fol and Ric has revised this homebrew emulator’s readme file to make it easier for you. The readme file explains EVERTHING (caps and bold typeface came from the developers) so we wouldn’t even think of doing anything before checking it out.
