Justify getting a PS3 with great PS2 games
Why shell out all that cash for a PS3? At the end of the day, some gamers may ask themselves what they got into upon grabbing Sony‘s console when they could have bought enough game time on WoW to last them till the second expansion. Game Daily decided to help you forget your fears and worries, if only for a little while, by reminding people of the PS3’s predecessor and the host of games we will (or at least we hope we will) see in the future.
The list is too extensive to give justice to all the games in a few paragraphs, but we can at least cite some of the noteworthy games mentioned.
Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, and Okami:
One thing you can’t discount about the PS2 was its ability to get some really impressive-looking games, not only from a visual standpoint, but from an experiential one as well. The above three games were an experience to behold, and though they didn’t get the sales they should have deserved (and you can add Clover’s demise to those reasons), you can expect them to at least have spiritual predecessors on the PS3.
Grand Theft Auto series:
Sure, other consoles will have GTA or a game just like it, but can you imagine the GTA series with the hardware of the PS3? Prettier cars, hotter-looking women, and an even larger world than that of GTA: San Andreas would await us if that happens!
Metal Gear Solid series:
Among the games mentioned, MGS is perhaps the deal-sealer of the list. You know Hideo Kojima‘s already making MGS 4, and he says it’s the last one (the nth time he’s said so). There’s no better place to be completely awed by the cinematics and the funny PS3 references in his trailers than on the PS3 itself.
