Drool-fest: details on Halo 3’s three retail versions
Sorry if this is already old news to some of you, but we were a bit surprised to find the Halo 3 advertisement over at EBgames/Gamestop site showing the three versions available for pre-order; regular, collector’s edition, and the legendary edition.
We’ve mentioned the three versions briefly in a previous article but looks like Gamestop has just confirmed this for us. BUT, what’s even more interesting is that they’re advertising Halo 3 with a release date of November 1st next year. Hmmm.
Anyhoo, while you think about that, you should also know that the Legendary edition will come with a Halo Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI helmet as well as three bonus discs that contain:
- a behind-the-scenes look at Bungie Studios with an inside look into the Halo Universe and the making of Halo 3
- a high-resolution collection of all cinematics from Halo 1 and 2 with a director commentary
- exclusive Gamer Tiles, content from Red vs. Blue, This Spartan Life and a theme
And, as a bonus, each every Legendary edition unit sold will be serialized for individuality. Neat, huh? As for the Collector’s edition, there’s no info yet on exactly what it will include but we will scour for more details on that. According to our source, the regular edition will sell
for US $ 59.99, the Collector’s edition for $ 69.99, and the Legendary edition for a whopping US $ 99.99.
But hey, if you’re a real Halo fanatic, that shouldn’t be an issue, right? Plus, imagine how cool it’d be to have the Mjolnir Mark VI helmet!!! Now, back to the release date, before you wet your pants and get all excited, the site did say (in bold letters, if we might add) that Microsoft still hasn’t announced the official pricing and release dates, so the November 1, 2007 release date is only an estimate. But still…
