globeMicrosoft may be having a hard time with the Japanese market but the company is very optimistic about India. In fact, the company is so positive about the Asian subcontinent that Microsoft is calling it “an opportunity for the future.”

What makes MS so confident about the success of its next-gen console in India is the number of titles readily translate to the country. Last September, MS introduced the Xbox 360 in 1,200 retail stores in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi and the company said it is pleased with its sales performance.

Where in the world will Xbox 360 be spotted next?

The company’s plan includes more developing nations in Eastern Europe and eventually the mother of all markets, China (over a billion potential shoppers?). Microsoft, however, is not giving up. It is working with the Chinese government to open the market.
