F-24 Stealth Fighter gets DS treatment

Flight sims are fun when you finally get the hang of them. Fighting flight sims are even more fun, since you can always just crash your plane into the enemy and not care. Fighter pilot fans better thank Majesco Entertainment and Skyworks Technologies then, because they’re making a DS version of the GBA flying sim known as F-24 Stealth Fighter.

F-24 Stealth Fighter is an object lesson in applying the problems of today’s world into video games. In the game, you are tasked with keeping stability in the Middle East. Due to increasing military and political problems in the region, your job has you completing 20 missions over land and sea to neutralize threats to Iran and its neighboring countries.

It’s not just about practicing your shooting skills with indiscriminate missile barrages, however. You’ll also have to learn how to accurately pilot your craft to take off and land from aircraft carriers and refuel in mid-flight.

It’ll be interesting to see how the controls will be implemented in this flight sim, especially in their plans for effectively using both screens. You’ll have to wait for early 2007 to grab a copy though, but you can always grab the GBA version for 15 bucks if the need to fly is really getting to you. Enjoy!
