Sony: Do you like PSP-TV? Uh-oh…
It’s just been a week after Sony‘s shocking survey asking us how we wanted our PSP neutered, err, “modified”, and it seems that they’re trying their hand at another survey, this time on the PSP’s TV viewing capabilities:
For those not too sure what either means, LocationFree is a hardware package that allowed you to stream TV programs to your PSP iTV-style. It was a cool idea…until we saw the $200 price tag that almost gave us a coronary. At the very least, there are (freebie) alternatives. As for the second option, it involves subscribing your PSP to a mobile TV service, very much like how your local cable companies work, except you’re hooking up to a line meant for cell phones and the like.
We have no idea what Sony’s trying with these recent surveys, but it looks like they’re either trying to give us a heads up for new stuff on the way for the PSP, or they’re trying figure out what to do with the next PSP firmware. Worst-case scenario, there’s always hot-wiring an antenna to our beloved units…
