Sound recording Mr. Chainsaw for Gears of War
Here’s some actual behind the scene footage for the making of Gears of War. What you will see here is the sound recording for Mr. Chainsaw, with sound designer Jamey Scott.
It may seem pretty easy, after all, all he did was to get the chainsaw working and record its sound in his studio. But seeing that it took him more than two hours to get the sound he wanted, well then, we’re bound to think it’s not as easy as it looks. We ain’t familiar with how these things go, but surely, there’s still a lot to be done after it gets recorded. There’s still those pitches and volume and other whatnots that must be fixed before it can actually be ready for integration into the production.
Oh well. It was a fun watch. Although for a while back there, we were half-expecting the studio to be covered in blood after his little project.
