Famitsu scores of Wii games (e.g., Zelda…)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes… Oh boy. And this comes after the entire Gamespot thing. In Famitsu‘s recent issue (according to the translation of IGN’s Wii boys), you may be glad to note that the reviewers have given Twilight a 9, 10, 9, 10, for a 38/40 total (cue Final Fantasy victory fanfare). It’s not the 40/40 that Ocarina got, but it’s d**n well in that territory. And besides, it simply reinforces Twilight‘s #2 position in Game Ranking’s 10 Best Games Evar.
If you’re further interested – and this is now the nitty-gritty of the review – the GameCube version of Twilight got a 10, 10, 9, 9, also for a 38/40. On the other hand, reviewer comments on the GCN version “seemed to suggest that (it), while lacking some of the freshness of the Wii version, offers a feeling of precise control thanks to the standard control system.” We don’t know if that has something to do with the Wiimote differential, but it is something to look into, if the guys in the office only had Japanese lessons and Famitsu fedexed to them on a regular basis.
Okay, flagship title that it is, Zelda isn’t the only game out there for the Wii. Here are the other Famitsu scores for Wii launch games in Japan:
- Necro Nesia: 8,7,6,7 = 28/40
- Super Monkey Ball: 8,8,8,7 = 31/40
- Wing Island: 5,6,6,5 = 22/40
- Kororinpa: 6,6,6,6 = 24/40
- SD Gundam Scud Hammers: 8,8,9,8 = 33/40
- Ennichi no Tatsujin: 7,7,7,6 = 27/40
- Tamagotchi no Pika Pika Daitouryou: 7,7,7,5 = 26/40
- Red Steel: 8,9,9,8 = 34/40
- Trauma Center: 8,9,8,7 = 32/40
- Elebits: 8,8,8,8 = 32/40
- Super Swing Golf: 8,7,7,7 = 29/40
- Odoru Made in Wario: 8,9,8,9 = 34/40
- Crayon Shin Chan: 7,8,7,6 = 28/40
