Swordfish Studios opens new office exclusively for next-gen projects

Swordfish Studios rugby gameSwordfish Studios, considered one of Europe’s most respected independent game development studios, wants to swim in a bigger pond. The UK-based studio is opening a new office in Manchester to compliment its current one in Birmingham.

To fill up all that new space, Swordfish Studios is on the headhunt for 50 people to work exclusively on the company’s titles for the next gen platforms.

According to its website, the company is looking for exceptionally talented individuals to work as Senior Level Artists, Level Artists,  Effects Programmer and Gameplay Programmer.

“Our next generation projects require us to build on and expand our existing talent base, so we are looking for people with the right strengths, skills and talent,” according to the company. However, the nature of these next-gen projects are being kept hush hush for now.

Swordfish Studios, which was recently acquired by Vivendi Universal Games (VU), is the developer of the following games:

  • Jonah Lomu Rugby
  • UEFA Striker 
  • Hostile Waters (Antaeus Rising)
  • World Championship Rugby
  • Cold Winter
  • Brian Lara International Cricket 2005
  • Rugby Challenge 2006
