Some of you, if you were quick enough, may have seen a brief posting at Gamestop for a new PSP title from EA named Lord of the Rings: Tactics. The listing was taken down as quickly as it was put up, and 1up has dug around a little. Here is what they had to say:
Earlier this afternoon, online readers discovered retailer Gamestop had a listing for a currently unannounced Electronic Arts (EA) game entitled Lord of the Rings Tactics. Sources close to 1UP.com have confirmed the game’s existence.
Judging on name alone, Lord of the Rings Tactics is likely a turn-based strategy game based on author J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe brought back into the mainstream by director Peter Jackson’s films.
Gamestop took down the listing this afternoon. When contacted for more information about the game, Electronic Arts wouldn’t offer confirmation. “As a company policy we don’t respond to rumors,” said Tiffany Spencer, senior manager of public relations at EA Los Angeles
