Virtua Fighter 5 release date confirmed…for Japan
The much-anticipated title Virtua Fighter 5 will be available early next year…
That is how we put it whenever publishers have yet to come up with concrete release dates. Well, not anymore! Sega finally committed to a final date for the fighting game. The date you ask? It’s February 8, 2007. Go get now that red marker and put a big circle around the said date. U.S. fans, unfortunately, can not do the same yet as this only concerns the Japanese market.
Virtua Fighter 5 will be priced around 8,190 Yen or US$ 70. With a price like that, it seems that Sega is feeling comfortable with its creation. Normally, other games in Japan are just tagged a little over 7,000 Yen. Also, the game comes with the PS2-compatible Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary game. In case you are not aware, this package includes the original Virtua Fighter updated with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution gameplay systems.
Sega, furthermore, knows well that most of the game’s fan base is comprised of arcade fanatics. After all, VF was originally released as an arcade game back in 1993. With that said, fans can relive their arcade fun days buy purchasing the Virtua Stick High Grade arcade stick for 7,329 Yen. However, the arcade stick will be released, a little later, on February 15.
Lastly, Sega did not give word about the U.S. release and if ever they’re planning to ship in as well the arcade stick.
Oh God, we hope they do…
